Since 2014 I’ve had  the good fortune to contribute to national policy making, budget planning, developments in the film sector and new philanthropy initiatives. A lot of this work is ongoing and confidentional but I’m happy to count the following among my clients:

I’m currently working with Axis Ballymun, conducting research into their award winning Creative Space programme. The report will establish why and how Creative Space worked, how it could be improved and how it could be replicated.

I was invited by CHL Consulting in 2017 to contribute to their tender to the Arts Council to undertake the review of venue policy on behalf of both the Council and the City and County Managers Association.  Once the tender was awarded I was invited to contribute to the review, capturing the current policy environment, and engaging with senior management across the local authorities and within venues. The report is due for publication later this year

I was engaged by Dublin City Council in 2018 to conduct an indepth review of Axis Ballymun, spanning strategy, programming, business and revenue model, culture, strategy and relevance to inform future relations between the City Council and Axis.

In 2017 I was tasked with developing the methodology for the City’s  Cultural Mapping Project which is now ongoing.

In 2016 I worked on the European Capital of Culture Bid Team, with specific responsibility for the development of the  Cultural Policy, the cultural profile of the city, the infrastructure capacity and risk management plan and an outcomes analysis to contextualise the aims and objectives of the new policy.

I was contracted in late 2017 to develop a fundraising strategy with Barnstorm Theatre Company in Kilkenny. However the contract changed when their core funding was cut by 35% in December of that year.  I was tasked with developing a new strategy and “rescue plan” for the company. Since then the company has completed a full programme of work in 2018, secured significant support from its local authority (including a new premises) and local CSR budgets and is developing a raft of exciting new projects.  The consultancy with Barnstorm is ongoing.

I was engaged by the Munster Literature Centre in 2018 to conduct a strategic review at the behest of the Arts Council. The review has resulted in a complete restructuring of the board and an enhanced understanding on the part of the Council of MLC’s strategic role and significance within the literary infrastructure.

The Tomar Trust engaged me in 2016/17 to advise them on their plans for investment in the arts sector, specifically regarding arts, education, young people, community and inclusion. The purpose of the report was to identify strategic partners within the arts and culture sector, and develop a sustainable investment partnership. I provided them with a comprehensive review of the sector in terms of current policy, supports and organisations and made a series of recommendations based on their long term objectives.
